Bang Sak Center for Language & Computer
That's our semi-official title (translated from Thai) for Dean's center that we use for everything. Monday through Friday 5-6p.m. we teach English to Thai kids. Starting February Kennedy will teach adults 3 nights a week from 7-8p.m.
Starting this week we are also opening our center to teach Thai to westerners. A group of 8 adults and 9 kids, all learning Thai except the smallest 3 children. We will hire someone to watch them in our Sunday School room.
It will be quite the learning curve for our dear Thai co-workers, but it will help their income substantially. It is also a great use of the center. I got together with Ning, Khrua and Chan yesterday to teach them some phonemic/phonetic basics and familiarize them with the books we will be using. I know they will be good language teachers, Ning already does a great job with our kids and Dean's interns, Trevor & Kory. Khrua has some experience already, and Chan, her younger brother, will do great too, I'm sure.
We start today.
