Happy Tropical Thanksgiving
We celebrated with friends, and it was special...all that delicious American food. In the past 8 years we've missed most Thanksgivings. It isn't celebrated here, of course, and things like turkey and cranberries are imported and very expensive. Just not native fare here in tropical Southeast Asia. So yesterday was special. Some families must have brought pecans from home, because we had pecan pie, too. Boy, it's been years since I've had pecan pie! (So of course I had to have 2 helpings.) No cranberries. We did have some yummy ham, though.
So that was a little bit of wonderful.
Hope you had a bit of wonderful, too.

Mom just finished getting her nursing degree and has been traveling all over the US as an oncall nurse. She seems to be enjoying that quite a bit. Dad works as a tech for National Semiconductor at one of thier satelite design centers they keep in Grass Valley. Time alone has not been easy to come by lately, perhaps I will talk Mom into watching the young Mr. Johnston for a while tomorrow night so we can go get our sushi fix for the month....yep that sounds good (not quite ready for bugs yet). Talked to Darin Owen yesterday, we are still in contact, and I will probably get to see Johnny this Christmas too. He rotates between Hawaii and his parents every year because Damen & Lana are stationed there at one of the Army bases. Last time I checked they had 4 kids, seems like they have a new one everytime I see them again. Sam is playing dad in Colorado, Steve Johnson & his wife moved back to GV and have a new baby, Rocky is married and living in Hawaii as well with his new wife (after a horrible accident), Bill just decided to leave and start trucking school and Russel has been living in SanDiego for several years now. The group is still pretty close, and we try to get together at least once a year for one occasion or another. Well, it's 2:06 and I just finished some coding for a local youth center, time to rest!
Talk to you soon,
